What is the essential difference between an isolator and an isolated safety barrier?


Isolator

It is used to adjust and isolate various signals of field instruments, and convert them into standard signals acceptable to computers, DCS, PLC, etc. or special signals specified by users. A device, such as a relay, used to electrically isolate remote equipment from operating equipment.

The associated equipment of explosion-proof instruments shall not affect the function of the measurement system under normal circumstances. It is set on the side of the safe place, when the safety explosion-proof system fails, it can limit the energy (electric energy) entering the dangerous place within the safe value, so as to ensure the safety of the site.
